Student Community Service Work Program

Friends of Osprey Junction Trailhead in partnership with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources

Student volunteers are offered community service time at Osprey Junction Trailhead Park during regularly scheduled work mornings, usually Thursday and Saturday, and special student work events. The park is located at 939 East Bay Street, Osprey, Florida 34229. This 10-acre park is a trailhead park next to The Legacy Trail.

The majority of work is outside installing and maintaining gardens, landscape cleanup and special landscape projects. There may also be inside work available on special projects and programs.

Individual students, a group of students or school clubs may work. Individual students age 18 and above may work at any regularly scheduled work mornings, special student work events and on special projects/programs. Individual students age 15-17 may work at any regularly scheduled work mornings, special student work events and on special projects/programs with parent/guardian approval. Individual students below age 15 may work at regularly scheduled work mornings, special student work events and on special projects/programs if accompanied by a parent, guardian or teacher. A group of students or school clubs with students of any age may request work events to be scheduled if the group or club is supervised by a parent, guardian or teacher.
