“Art in the Park” at Osprey Junction Trailhead

The primary purpose

of the “Art in the Park” Program is to provide additional opportunities for the public to visit and enjoy Osprey Junction Trailhead Park by offering visual arts exhibits, events and activities at the Park

Natural Area

Osprey Junction Trailhead is a 10-acre Sarasota County Park designed to remain a natural area with woods, ponds and walking trails. The Park is located at 939 East Bay Street in Osprey next to The Legacy Trail, a paved, non-motorized, multi-purpose recreational trail extending from Venice to Sarasota

Facilities

The “Art in the Park” Program utilizes the facilities and grounds at the Park which allows creative expression by artists and promotes public appreciation of the visual arts. It also provides opportunities for income for artists and art organizations from sales of art work and fees for art education activities

The “Art in the Park” Program includes

Art exhibits inside the Visitor Center and on the Park grounds with a variety of themes and types of art.

Temporary artwork displayed inside the Visitor Center and on the Park grounds

Art education activities including artist demonstrations, lectures, workshops and classes inside the Visitor Center and on the Park grounds

Managed by Friends of Osprey Junction Trailhead

The “Art in the Park” Program is managed by Friends of Osprey Junction Trailhead, an all-volunteer organization, affiliated with Friends of Sarasota County Parks, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, in partnership with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources
